You didn’t seriously think that I was going to stay silent on Mathieu Hubou, my direct paternal ancestor, did you? Especially since I keep on gathering details about his family.

His baptismal record is dated March 5, 1626, and was found in the parish volume of Saint-André of Mesnil-Durand, department of Calvados. If Mathieu’s sister Françoise, a pioneer as well, was most likely born in the aforesaid parish, we’ll never be able to validate same as, unfortunately, the registers for later years were lost.

I wanted to point out that it is possible to collaborate with the Fichier Origine’s team should you have to rectify inaccurate information you may have noticed or rather add a new one to what is currently listed. You will find the instructions here (in French, please use Google Translate if needed). As a matter of fact, I recently emailed them about the following.

When consulting the page of Mathieu and Françoise Hubou, I realized that it does not mention the baptismal records of two other siblings. I came upon indeed, in the parish of Saint-André, the records for two sisters of Mathieu and Françoise, who were baptized in 1619 (Anne) and 1622 (Katherine).

That’s why it might be quite helpful to visit the website regularly. New bits of information may have been added since your previous visit, even so, the page existed already.
