Louis Troville went over from Grand Isle to Plattsburgh, NY, with a horse and sleigh the Friday afternoon before last, carrying over George Bean and daughter and mother. Saturday morning he started from Cumberland Head on the return trip, but when he had reached within a quarter of mile of the island he found the ice in such a condition that he was compelled to turn back, leave his horse on the New York shore, and come home on foot.

Louis Troville of South Hero, Vermont, might be the one married to Ellen Perreault in 1863. He was the son of John Troville and Marguerite Dome. George Bean would then be his first cousin. George Bean was John Bean’s and Rosetta Tourville’s son.

Now, please, I need your help. Would the daughter and mother referred to would be George’s or Louis’? Because if the mother referred to was Rosetta, that would help me determine her death date and place more accurately. I found out that George was a widower in 1890 and that he had moved from South Hero, VT to St. Lawrence County, NY. Would that mean that George, his daughter and mother were returning home after a visit? Would it explain why I cannot find Rosetta’s death record and headstone in South Hero?
