Antoine is listed in the 1850 US Census for Ferrisburgh. He is referred to as Antoine Stone on Page 304 (stamped-right page), Line 31, Household 162, with the following persons listed, respectively, on lines 32, 33, and 34:
- Mary Stone
- Lucy Stone
- Sarah Stone
Mary is Marie-Marthe Bérard, wife of Antoine. Lucy and Sarah are their daughters. All family members are said to be born in Canada, which is proven by the Quebec parish records, except for Sarah. We haven’t found any baptismal record for her, either in Quebec nor Vermont.
Antoine Stone was born Antoine Meunier dit Lapierre. This family is easy to follow. From 1812, year of the marriage, until about 1838, they lived in Marieville. In 1850, they were in Ferrisburgh where they settled until Antoine’s death in 1881.
Unfortunately, no burial information could be found in newspapers. We can assume that Antoine was buried in Ferrisburgh.
