Genealogy? Still on my Mind… And the 2018 French ChallengeAZ Too

You may have noticed that I was off the genealogy radar for a while now. Please do not assume that my interest in my favourite hobby has faded, quite the contrary!

Indeed, among the countless hours at work, unavoidable home maintenance, and my research, energy unfortunately dropped at level zero, as a result of which, genealogy was the collateral victim. Hence, I am proud to say that some projects on the backburner will soon be into the spotlight.

First of all, during my summer vacation last June, I went to the Archives nationales du Québec where I scanned a guardianship act concerning Marie-Louise—Marie or Louise—Corriveau (?-1875), wife of François Tourville, who died in Massachusetts. One of her American descendants indicated to me that Louise’s sister was called… Louise. Relevant verification has been made, and both women actually have the same parents. So which one is which? Intriguing, isn’t it? One post on the subject is scheduled to be published before Christmas.

Moreover, I have also found some newspaper clips regarding some members of my immediate family. I can’t wait to tell you about that.

The 2018 French ChallengeAZ schedule has been modified, it will take place in November instead of June. At first, I had no intention to participate as fall is rather busy for me at the office. And then I thought, why not link this activity with my Vermont Project? The little time I have dedicated to genealogy this year was for this project. In addition to a few discoveries made in Vermont last June, I have enough families I worked on to complete the alphabet. As usual, each post will count no more than 100 words.

Well, the most important thing is to have fun! I am happy to be back. Let’s all have a great autumn.

  1. Glad you are back publishing your research. I was hoping it was just a busy schedule that kept you fro thus activity and not something more serious. Look forward to seeing what you have been doing.
