Salt Lake City 2015 | Research Trip Journal | Day 2

portage sioux

Yesterday, I planned to work on my schedule but you know how it is, I found such remarkable things that I got distracted.

First of all, I mostly worked on the Catholic Church registry for St. Francis of Portage des Sioux in Missouri. I thought I would only find the burial act of Pierre Tourville, who died at age 7, in 1843 but, oh! other surprises were in for me! More details on my blog in the weeks to come.

Then I made some researches for a geneafriend in microfilms for California and it was like the Klondike! You know what? You are crazy about genealogy when you are as excited to find information on other people’s ancestors as if they were your own.

Today will be kind of quiet. My friend Diane’s flight should be coming in soon. Well, guess what we will talk about non-stop until the NEHGS’ group  meeting at 3 pm? The cocktail is at 6 pm and then dinner.

For those who want to know, the hockey game I attented last night was unfortunately a loss for the local team but the Montréal Habs won again!

Work will resume tomorrow morning. I hope to have some good news for you! 🙂
